On the Dragon Boat Festival, a group of children reciting poetry and engaging in poetic exchanges traveled through time right here at Limutai! “Have you not seen the Yellow River’s waters descending from heaven, rushing to the sea never to return? Have you not seen…?” On the very day of the Dragon Boat Festival, clear, resonant voices echoed through the forests of Limutai Mountain. The children’s voices rose and fell with rhythmic cadence, as melodious as silver bells, drawing countless visitors to stop and listen. Upon closer inspection, a group of youngsters dressed in traditional Hanfu were reciting poems and exchanging verses amidst the woods. Their flowing robes and graceful gestures made them seem as if they had stepped straight out of ancient times. It turned out that this was the Dragon Boat Poetry Competition co-hosted by the Beijing Little Seed Eloquence & Emotional Intelligence Camp and Limutai. The event took place on the scenic boardwalk platform of Limutai, surrounded by towering trees, lush greenery, and crisp, fresh air. Immersed in this natural setting, the children freely chanted their favorite verses, infusing the beautiful landscape with a rich cultural atmosphere. Sharp-eyed viewers surely recognized it—it’s our beloved mascot, Lili! Lili made such a grand entrance not just to celebrate Children’s Day with the kids; June 1st was also Lili’s birthday. This playful little sprite hosted a lively birthday bash, inviting friends and fans to join in the festivities. The scene was absolutely buzzing with excitement. Whoa! A giant-sized Lili stood by the mountain path, waving cheerfully to welcome everyone. ▲ Lili announced: “It’s my birthday—I’m the biggest!” Nannan, the host from Tianjin Children’s Channel, officiated Lili’s birthday celebration. Under the warm sunshine and gentle breeze, a shimmering shade of red appears among the green forests of Limei Terrace. This is our newly built “Historical Memory, Red Monument” exhibition hall. On this legendary land, a deep-rooted red spirit has long been nurtured, patiently awaiting our efforts to uncover and carry forward. Anti-Japanese Base Area Jizhou is a nationally recognized first-class old revolutionary base area county in China. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the broad masses fought bravely and tenaciously, establishing the renowned Panshan Anti-Japanese Base Area in western Hebei. Amidst complex and ever‑changing circumstances, the area now encompassed by the Limei Terrace Scenic Area also became an important part of the Panshan Anti-Japanese Base Area. Under the leadership of the CPC, the anti-Japanese soldiers and civilians waged guerrilla warfare, engaging in fierce battles against Japanese and puppet forces, while enduring heavy sacrifices and immense losses. Patriotic Education Base Entering the new era, several veteran revolutionaries attached great importance to building a patriotic education base within the Limei Terrace Scenic Area. On July 18, 2004, Hua Binglai, President of the Tianjin Old Revolutionary Base Area Promotion Association, together with county-level leaders, visited the Limei Terrace Scenic Area and held a unveiling ceremony for the Limei Terrace Patriotic Education Base. On April 29, 2008, Li Fuxing, President of the Jizhou Old Revolutionary Base Area Promotion Association, along with other leaders, erected a commemorative plaque at the Limei Terrace Education Base and personally presided over its unveiling. Permanent Exhibition Hall During the Anti-Japanese War, numerous true historical events that took place at Limei Terrace were long preserved only in written records such as books and periodicals, failing to fulfill their potential in educating the public. In line with President Xi Jinping’s series of instructions on staying true to our original aspiration and keeping our mission firmly in mind, and in accordance with the requirements of the “Outline for Implementing Patriotic Education”—which calls for establishing patriotic education bases and conducting in-depth patriotic education—this fundamental national policy, the Party organization of Limei Terrace decided to invest in creating the permanent “Historical Memory, Red Monument” exhibition hall. Its purpose is to inherit the red gene of Jizhou’s old revolutionary base areas, carry forward revolutionary traditions, and educate future generations. The Liumutai Scenic Area 2019 Beijing Promotion Event Was Successfully Held On March 21, the Liumutai Scenic Area, together with Tianjin Panshan Scenic Area, Beijing Jinhai Lake Scenic Area, Hebei Qingdongling Protection Zone, and Huangyaguan Great Wall—five scenic areas in total—hosted the “East Jing Scenic Areas 2019 Beijing Promotion Conference” at the Royal Cuisine Museum in Beijing.
