Limu Typhoon Scenic Area
Limutai Scenic Area is a National Geopark, a National Forest Park, and a national 4A‑level tourist attraction. The area boasts verdant, towering peaks—more than 80 in total—with its highest summit, Limutai Mountain, rising to 997 meters above sea level. Here, dramatic mountain ridges and deep canyons meet lush, secluded forests; crystal‑clear pools, cascading waterfalls, and babbling streams flow endlessly, while vines and creepers twine and entwine—a landscape that scholars and experts have dubbed “Tianjin’s Shennongjia” and “the tropical rainforest of the North.” The region preserves Precambrian rocks formed some 2.6 to 3.5 billion years ago, giving rise to remarkable geological wonders such as the Layered Rock‑Painting Ridge, the Heavenly Crack, Five‑Finger Mountain, and the Ten‑Thousand‑Volume Heavenly Scripture. It also safeguards the Northern Qi Great Wall, built over 1,400 years ago, which winds and undulates in a spectacular display. Step into Limutai, and you’ll be greeted by lively streams, swaying green trees, crisp, fresh air, and awe‑inspiring rock art—all inviting you to let your imagination soar. A secluded landscape straight out of a painting, a legendary place called Limutai—welcome!
