At 7:00 a.m. on August 10, A film titled “The Thundering Valley,” set against the backdrop of Limutai. A launch ceremony was held at the Limu Typhoon Scenic Area.
Cai Bo, head of the Limutai Scenic Area and producer of the film, together with director Xiao Hongyu, officially announced the start of filming and unveiled the camera draped in a red cloth. Each member of the crew reverently burned incense, praying for a safe and smooth shoot.
Li Mutai’s directorial debut, “The Thundering Valley,” tells the story of a serendipitous encounter born of perfect timing and place: he and she, once complete strangers, are drawn together by a drunken jest, embarking on an absurd and unforgettable journey through the valley’s breathtaking beauty. From initial misunderstandings to heartfelt moments in the face of danger, and finally to the helpless resignation of a sudden turn—amidst the thundering valley, after their hearts have been stirred, where will they ultimately go?
Following the opening ceremony, the production team seized the momentum and filmed the first scene.
Limumai In the morning light, the village was shrouded in a delicate mist. Several rustic courtyards are nestled amid the verdant hills and misty greenery, where chickens, ducks, and pigs roam in peaceful contentment within their pens, and two little deer wander back and forth. Out on the open meadow, beneath two towering trees, the male and female leads recline in hammocks—one above the other, one to the left, the other to the right—seemingly distant yet tinged with a quiet sense of closeness. This uniquely charming way of staying makes one all the more curious about how the story will unfold.
