The 2015 Tianjin Mountain and Outdoor Sports Games concluded successfully after two days of intense competition held on October 24–25 at the Limutai Scenic Area in Jixian County. This event also marked Limutai’s inaugural mountain-climbing and hiking festival, organized by the Tianjin Municipal Sports Bureau and hosted by the Tianjin Mountaineering and Outdoor Sports Association, with strong support from 21 co-organizing entities, including Beijing Zoushan Society Sports Co., Ltd., Xinglong County Xiangtu Culture and Sports Development Co., Ltd., Cangzhou Lingluzhe Outdoor Sports Co., Ltd., Tianjin Haikè Sports and Culture Co., Ltd., and others.

This mountain-and‑wilderness sports event drew more than 500 outdoor enthusiasts, most of whom came from running and cycling clubs as well as travel agencies in Tianjin, Beijing, Tangshan in Hebei, and Xinglong in Chengde. The program featured four events: family and mixed‑team hiking; a cross‑country cycling exhibition race; and individual and team cross‑country running for men and women. During the day, over 500 participants left their sweat and footprints amid the autumnal mountains and forests of Limutai. As night fell, they gathered under the clear moonlight at Limutai for camping and a bonfire, adding to the festive atmosphere of the event.

Family‑style and mixed‑group hikes allowed participants to savor a deep sense of camaraderie and warmth amid leisurely outdoor pursuits; trail running and mountain biking fully showcased the athletes’ physical prowess and skill; while team events and campfire gatherings brimmed with the spirit and passion of collaboration. Each activity was vibrant and captivating, drawing numerous visitors to stop and watch.

The 2015 Tianjin Mountain and Wilderness Sports Games were designed to implement the National Fitness Regulations, uphold the theme of “全民健身、全运惠民” (“National Fitness, Benefits for All through the National Games”), and serve as a warm-up for the 13th National Games, scheduled to be held in Tianjin in 2017. Through this event, the general public was able to enjoy the pleasures of running, cycling, and hiking while getting closer to nature and immersing themselves in the outdoors.

The successful hosting of this year’s Mountain and Wilderness Sports Games was made possible by the coordinated efforts of mountain and outdoor sports enthusiasts from Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei, as well as the strong support of the sports authorities, sports associations, and sports enterprises in all three regions.

In the golden autumn, Limutai boasts clear skies and crisp, refreshing air, with scenery that is truly delightful. Hosting the sports meet here not only allows participants to breathe deeply and stretch freely in the pure, unspoiled air of nature, but also lets them savor the vibrant, enchanting autumn vistas along the way—bringing joy to both body and mind.
