“Have you not seen the Yellow River’s waters descend from heaven, rushing to the sea and never returning? Have you not seen…?”
On the day of the Dragon Boat Festival, clear voices chanting aloud echoed through the forests of Limutai Mountain.
The child’s voice, with its lilting cadence and melodic rise and fall, rang out like a silver bell, drawing countless visitors to stop and listen.
Upon closer inspection, a group of children dressed in traditional Hanfu were reciting poetry and engaging in poetic exchanges amidst the woods, their robes fluttering gently and their manners exquisitely graceful—like figures who had stepped straight out of ancient times.
It turns out this was the Dragon Boat Festival Poetry Competition, co-hosted by the Beijing Little Seed Eloquence and Emotional Intelligence Camp and Limutai. The event was held on the boardwalk platform at Limutai, surrounded by towering trees, lush greenery, and crisp, fresh air.
Immersed in this setting, the children recite with abandon, lending a rich cultural aura to the breathtaking natural landscapes.

The teacher calls out a character, and the children take turns reciting a line of poetry that includes that character. Anyone who can’t come up with one within the time limit is eliminated.
The competition on the field was fiercely intense, and the children’s extensive knowledge of poetry and their quick wit were truly awe-inspiring.
Before the poetry competition, the children also enjoyed a leisurely visit to Limutai with their parents.
It takes 40 minutes to hike from the foot of the mountain to the boardwalk platform. The park’s excellent tour guide led everyone through mountains and forests, weaving in lively Q&A sessions with prizes along the way. The children eagerly raised their hands to answer each question, their cheerful and adorable demeanor as bright as little birds singing happily in the woods.
When you come to a place as picturesque as Limutai, with its lush mountains and clear waters, it’s not enough simply to recite poems.
The next day, the children, guided by their teacher, took part in a forest meditation and painted amidst the trees.
Sit quietly in the forest, feel the breeze and the birdsong, and draw strength from nature.
Walk forward with your eyes closed, feel the earth beneath your feet, and build trust among your teammates.
On the mountainside stands a stone house, fully equipped with paper, pens, and paints. Inside, children freely sketch and doodle, creating their own visions of Limutai.
The two-day event has come to a close, and your smiling faces are the greatest gift you’ve given to Limutai.
