With the warm sun shining overhead and a gentle, mild breeze blowing, a shimmering red hue appeared amidst the verdant woods of Limutai. It was our newly built exhibition hall, “Historical Memory: A Red Monument.”
On this legendary land, a deep-rooted red heritage has long been firmly established, patiently awaiting our exploration and inheritance.
Anti-Japanese Base Area
Jizhou is a nationally recognized first-class old revolutionary base county in China. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the broad masses of the people fought bravely and tenaciously, establishing the renowned Panshan Anti-Japanese Base Area in western Jidong.

Amid a complex and tortuous struggle, the area around the Limutai Scenic Zone also became an important component of the Panshan Anti-Japanese Base Area.

Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese military and civilians waged guerrilla warfare, fought fiercely against Japanese and puppet forces, and at the same time suffered heavy casualties and enormous losses.
Patriotic Education Base
With the advent of the new era, several veteran revolutionaries have attached great importance to establishing a patriotic education base within the Limutai Scenic Area.

On July 18, 2004, Hua Binglai, President of the Tianjin Old Revolutionary Base Areas Construction Promotion Association, together with county-level leaders, visited the Limutai Scenic Area and held the unveiling ceremony for the Limutai Patriotic Education Base.
On April 29, 2008, Li Fuxing, president of the Jixian Old Revolutionary Base Area Development Promotion Association, along with other leaders, unveiled a commemorative plaque at the Limutai Education Base.

Permanent Exhibition Hall
During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, numerous true historical events that took place at Limutai were long preserved in written records such as books and periodicals, yet they failed to fulfill their potential in educating the general public.

In accordance with President Xi Jinping’s series of instructions on staying true to our original aspiration and keeping our mission firmly in mind, and in line with the requirements of the “Outline for Implementing Patriotic Education” to establish patriotic education bases and conduct in-depth patriotic education, which constitute a fundamental national policy of our country, the Party organization of Limutai has decided to invest in the establishment of a permanent exhibition hall titled “Historical Memory: A Red Monument,” with the aim of passing down the red heritage of the Jizhou old revolutionary base area, upholding revolutionary traditions, and educating future generations.

Historical Memory, Red Monument
The exhibition is divided into three main sections—“Never Forget National Humiliation, Remember History,” “Carrying Forward the Legacy, Enduring Arduous Resistance,” and “Staying True to Our Original Aspiration, Commemorating the Martyrs”—comprising a total of 19 display panels. It is hoped that Party members, cadres, the general public, and especially young people will visit the exhibition to gain a deeper understanding of the arduous journey undertaken by our Party in leading all ethnic groups across the country through bloody struggles, resisting aggression, overthrowing the “three great mountains,” and establishing New China. In doing so, they will further invigorate the national spirit and channel their patriotic enthusiasm into the grand cause of comprehensively building socialism with Chinese characteristics and realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

As we step into a new era and stand at a fresh starting point, the Limutai Scenic Area invites you to revisit our arduous history, kindle patriotic sentiments, honor the revolutionary martyrs, and forge a bright future together!
