I. Ecological and Cultural Educational Tourism

Time: April–October

Target audience: Students

Objective: To foster a sense of love and respect for the ecological environment and to work together to maintain harmony with nature.

Content: The Limu Mountain Scenic Area is an ecological and cultural education base in Tianjin, located in Xiaying Town, Jixian County. Covering a total area of over 1,000 hectares, it boasts a forest coverage rate exceeding 90% and an atmospheric concentration of negative oxygen ions ranging from 1,000 to 10,000 per cubic centimeter, offering fresh, invigorating air that is truly refreshing.

The Limu Typhoon Scenic Area originated in the Tertiary period of the Cenozoic Era, some 70 million years ago. It is a quintessential primeval secondary forest ecosystem in northern China, boasting stunning forest landscapes and an abundant array of wild flora and fauna, earning it the reputations of “Tianjin’s Shennongjia” and “the tropical rainforest of the North.”

Within the scenic area, more than 600 plant species belonging to over 130 families thrive in warm‑temperate, subtropical, and tropical zones, while 429 wild animal species—distributed across 34 orders and 136 families—call this place home. The region is also home to dozens of nationally protected plant species and over 200 well‑known traditional Chinese medicinal herbs, including kiwi, salvia miltiorrhiza, platycodon, motherwort, and agastache. Additionally, it harbors Arctic‑native northern loach, Antarctic‑native Huajiangluo, as well as the tropical endangered blue‑tailed skink, among other unique flora and fauna.

Complementary Activity: Ecological Science Lecture Series (presented through display boards, short video clips, signage, and other tangible materials).

II. Leisure and Vacation Travel

Time: May–October

Target audience: Family travelers

Content: Limu Scenic Area is a National Geopark, a National Forest Park, and a National 4A‑level tourist attraction. The area is surrounded by five specialized agritourism villages, offering more than 10,000 beds in total.

Each specialty village boasts a distinct character—some evoke the tranquil waters of Jiangnan, while others capture the rugged charm of northern China. The cuisine is equally unique: in spring, you can savor an array of wild mountain greens, freshly picked and enjoyed on the spot, along with signature dishes like fen tao, ge zha, and wan tao that are quintessentially Jizhou. And for those who love hearty fare, the Manchu‑Mongol‑style whole roasted lamb and the all‑you‑can‑eat barbecue will leave you so delighted you’ll hardly want to leave.

Nestled amidst the scenic landscapes, the on-site restaurant and boutique hotel offer trout and salmon raised in pristine mountain spring water—delicacies so flavorful they’ll turn your family getaway into a feast of joy and happiness.

Event Collaboration: “Experience the Legend Here” Mobile Photography Contest, May–October;

July 20 – August 31: Leisure and Summer-Resort Experience Season, Season III.

III. Health and Wellness Tourism

Time: April–November

Target audience: Middle-aged and elderly tourists

Content: The Limu Scenic Area boasts a forest coverage rate exceeding 90%, releasing the pristine air of millennia past and serving as a natural oxygen-rich haven. On average, each cubic centimeter contains between 1,000 and 10,000 negative oxygen ions. Far from the hustle and bustle of the city, it invites you to fully savor the wonders of nature. This is a paradise for flora and fauna, home to thousands of rare species and medicinal herbs. It is also a kingdom of water, where pools, waterfalls, and streams—varied in height and form, harmoniously blending motion and stillness—dot the lush, secluded mountain forests. The spring water here is rich in trace elements beneficial to health, including potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium, germanium, strontium, and selenium, with a pH of 7.7, making it naturally mildly alkaline. Arriving here feels like stepping into a hidden utopia—an ideal destination for wellness and rejuvenation.

Special Offer: During Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, and the Double Ninth Festival each year, visitors aged 50 or older are eligible for free admission.

IV. Geological Exploration Tour

Time: All year round

Target audience: specialized institutions and geological field researchers

Content: Limutai Scenic Area is a National Geopark, characterized by lush, verdant peaks. The area boasts more than 80 major summits, with Limutai Mountain as its highest peak, standing at an elevation of 997 meters.

This site preserves some of the world’s oldest metamorphic and sedimentary rocks, dating back 2.6 to 3.5 billion years, and boasts remarkable geological features. It is a key component of Jixian National Geopark, characterized by typical quartzite peak forest–canyon landforms, and serves as a globally renowned standard stratigraphic section for the Mesoproterozoic and Neoproterozoic eras.

Stepping into Limutai is like entering a “Stone Record” etched by the passage of time, where every page exudes a legendary charm that lingers long in the hearts of those who read it.

The Archean “Longevity Stone,” dating back 2.6 to 3.5 billion years; the “Ten-Thousand-Volume Heavenly Scripture,” which preserves 1.8 billion years of crustal evolution; the “Peak‑Forest Rock‑Art Ridge,” a masterpiece sculpted by nature; and the “Sea of Stones,” concealing the secrets behind the theft of treasures from the Eastern Qing Tombs—these are all exceptional destinations for your journey into nature’s hidden wonders.
