Once again, spring has arrived. As wild mountain peach blossoms bloom in succession, Jizhou—known as the “Garden of Mountains and Waters, the Garden of Beijing and Tianjin”—has entered its prime season for flower viewing. Soon, tens of thousands of acres of pear blossoms will ripple across the lofty mountains, transforming the landscape into a sea of blooms.
As the pear blossoms are in full bloom, the annual “Tianjin Jizhou Pear Orchard Romance Tourism and Culture Festival” is set to kick off. Co-hosted by the Tianjin Municipal Agriculture Commission, the Tianjin Municipal Tourism Bureau, and the People’s Government of Jizhou District, the “Pear Orchard Romance” festival has been held eight times to date, with each edition adding a unique flair to Jizhou’s spring tourism season.

This year’s 9th Pear Orchard Tourism and Culture Festival runs from April 15 to mid-May. In addition to the opening ceremony held at the TuanShanzi Pear Orchard in Xiaying Town, China’s Beautiful Countryside, a series of events will also take place at the venue. A seven-day themed event titled “Embrace the Scenery of Jizhou and Join the Grand Tourism Fair,” along with a Jizhou tourism photography exhibition, a specialty food tasting featuring “Strolling Through the Pear Blossom Festival, Savoring Anli Banquets, and Tasting Anli Wine,” and cultural charity performances.

Each scenic area has also introduced innovative offerings, hosting a variety of themed events such as the Panshan Spring Outing Festival, the Baxianshan Azalea Festival, the Anping Taohua Yuan Peach Blossom Festival, and the Maxinqiao Blueberry Picking Festival. While admiring the stunning scenery, visitors can also immerse themselves in the region’s rich folk traditions.

In addition, on April 15, viewers who log in to Zhangshang Jizhou, the official Jizhou Tourism WeChat account, the Jizhou Tour Operator Platform, and several other Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei WeChat channels will be able to watch the live broadcast of the opening ceremony of the 9th Pear Blossom Festival. This online viewing experience will be a special benefit of this year’s festival, allowing visitors not only to attend the event in person but also to enjoy the breathtaking spectacle of hundreds of miles of pear blossoms from the comfort of their homes.

In April, the blossoms herald the start of a flower‑viewing journey. In the picturesque Jiuzhou region, alongside peach and pear blossoms, forsythia, wild apricots, and azaleas will soon be in bloom. Meanwhile, numerous roads within Jiuzhou town will transform into cherry‑blossom tunnels, adorning the ancient city with vibrant beauty. Throughout the Tourism and Culture Festival, themed campaigns promoting civilized tourism will run continuously, with interactive initiatives such as “No Litter on the Ground” and “I Am a Practitioner of Civilized Tourism” encouraging courteous behavior and making politeness and consideration the festival’s most charming highlight.
