For most people, Jizhou evokes images of harmonious landscapes where mountains and waters embrace one another, majestic ancient architecture rising proudly, endless greenery stretching to the horizon, and quaint farmhouses standing in neat rows. With its stunning scenery and abundant historical sites, Jizhou’s tourism offerings extend far beyond its picturesque mountains, lakes, and waterways. Its development has transcended the confines of traditional tourism, evolving into a multifaceted, multi‑layered, and multidimensional comprehensive industry—where culture serves as its very soul. That is why we have launched the “Jizhou Stories” series, inviting everyone to share the tales of Jizhou and reveal the city’s unique cultural charm.

Jizhou is a thousand-year-old ancient commandery steeped in profound history, rich with countless historical anecdotes and legends. Jizhou’s “culture”… + There is great potential in the tourism sector. The Jizhou District Party Committee and District Government have formulated an overarching strategy to “play the card of natural landscapes, emphasize agriculture, leverage cultural assets, pursue high‑quality, high‑end development, and strengthen Party self‑discipline,” while steadfastly pursuing green development and achieving leapfrog growth, with the aim of building a modern, medium‑sized tourist city of high standards. In this vision, local culture occupies a pivotal and indispensable role.

Urban cultural heritage

Led by the Jizhou Tourism and Culture Group, a series of “Telling the Jizhou Story” events has been launched.
