Limei Terrace Scenic Area Holds Its First Meeting on Forest Protection and Fire Prevention Limei Terrace Scenic Area Convenes the First Winter Forest Protection and Fire Prevention Meeting of 2013 On November 20, 2013, the Limei Terrace Scenic Area organized a winter forest protection and fire prevention meeting to comprehensively plan and deploy the scenic area’s winter fire‑prevention efforts for 2013. At the meeting, Manager Liu, the company’s chief supervisor for forest fire prevention, first conveyed the spirit of the county-level forest fire‑prevention conference held on November 19. He explained the county forestry bureau’s fire‑prevention arrangements, as well as the important remarks and requirements delivered by the county mayor. Following this, Manager Cai read out the scenic area’s 2013 winter forest fire‑prevention contingency plan. During the meeting, Manager Cai urged all on‑duty staff during the winter season to attach great importance to the matter, thoroughly understand and implement the会议精神, and fully carry out the work plan. He also provided clear instructions regarding task assignments, vehicle usage, and key fire‑prevention issues in daily operations and living conditions. Manager Cai emphasized that every employee must prioritize forest protection and fire prevention, strictly guard all major checkpoints, absolutely prohibit any sources of ignition from entering the mountains, and conduct daily patrols. He advised adhering to the principle of “securing both ends while patrolling the middle” to effectively prevent fires and potential hazards. In addition, each member of the fire‑prevention team was required to master firefighting techniques and emergency evacuation procedures, ensure that all fire‑fighting equipment remains in proper working order, and maintain constant readiness to respond to emergencies. This effort aims to safeguard the continued development of the scenic area and contribute to the county’s goal of achieving its 24th consecutive year without any major fires. November 21, 2013

Limumai Portable Negative Oxygen Ion Detector

2013-11-17

Limei Terrace Negative Oxygen Ion Detector Limei Terrace Negative Oxygen Ion Detector: Yesterday morning’s reading was 2,320. In November, the Limei Terrace Scenic Area in Jixian County, Tianjin, successfully earned its designation as a national 4A-level scenic spot. With over 95% forest coverage, more than 600 plant species, and springs and waterfalls flowing throughout the area, it has long been known as a “natural oxygen bar.” To make this renowned quality immediately apparent, on the 15th, the scenic area’s management committee installed negative oxygen ion monitors to continuously track and update the levels of negative oxygen ions within the park. At 9:00 a.m. on the 16th, near the restaurant nestled among the mountains and waters, a large LED display showed that the current concentration of negative oxygen ions stood at 2,320 per cubic centimeter—far exceeding the World Health Organization’s standard for clean air, which defines fresh air as having a negative oxygen ion concentration between 1,000 and 1,500 per cubic centimeter. Negative oxygen ions are hailed as “air vitamins” and “longevity factors” due to their various beneficial effects, including dust reduction, sterilization, increased blood oxygen levels, enhanced physical health, and even disease treatment. They play a crucial role in the life processes of humans and other organisms. In China, negative oxygen ions are typically classified into six grades: Grade 1 contains 500 or fewer ions per cubic centimeter, commonly found in factory buildings, urban interiors, and street green spaces; Grade 2 ranges from 500 to 900 ions per cubic centimeter, often seen in parks; Grade 3 spans 900 to 1,200 ions per cubic centimeter, typical of open fields; Grade 4 covers 1,200 to 1,800 ions per cubic centimeter, usually observed on mountaintops; Grade 5 includes 1,800 to 2,100 ions per cubic centimeter, frequently encountered in forests; and Grade 6 features 2,100 or more ions per cubic centimeter, commonly found around forests and waterfalls. Experts explain that negative oxygen ions generally arise in three main ways: first, through dense forests; second, naturally in the atmosphere when ultraviolet radiation, cosmic rays, and other factors cause ionization, releasing electrons; and third, during processes such as waterfall impacts, rolling waves, or heavy rainfall, where water molecules break apart and release negative oxygen ions. According to scenic-area staff, under normal conditions, the concentration of negative oxygen ions tends to be higher on sunny days than cloudy ones, greater in summer than winter, and highest around noon compared to early mornings or evenings. “Now that winter has arrived, most of the trees in the scenic area have shed their leaves, and streams are beginning to dwindle, so the level of negative oxygen ions is far lower than during the lush summer months when forests are thick with foliage and cascading waterfalls abound. Even so, these readings remain quite impressive,” said a staff member. The staff further speculated that the reason Limei Terrace still maintains such high concentrations of negative oxygen ions during the dry season may be directly linked to the extensive coniferous forests within the area (this remains an assumption and requires verification). No wonder many local residents and tourists report feeling instantly refreshed upon arriving at Limei Terrace—even after a tiring hike or sightseeing trip. No matter how strenuous the climb or exploration, a short rest often leaves them feeling relaxed, and few leave the scenic area feeling exhausted.

Limutai Scenic Area has successfully been accredited as a National 4A‑Level Tourist Attraction.

2013-11-16

Limi Tai Scenic Area Has Successfully Been Accredited as a National 4A-Level Tourist Attraction Limi Tai Has Successfully Earned National 4A-Level Status In November 2013, following review and evaluation by the National Tourism Scenic Area Quality Rating Committee, Limi Tai Scenic Area was officially recognized as a national 4A-level attraction, becoming the third such site in Jixian County. A total of 38 scenic areas nationwide received this distinction during that round of assessments. Over the past two years, adhering to national standards and the "Administrative Measures for the Quality Rating of Tourist Attractions," Limi Tai has steadily increased investment in line with its development plan, rapidly enhancing both its infrastructure and service capabilities—laying a solid foundation for achieving 4A-level certification. I. Enhancing Basic Facilities According to National 4A Standards In accordance with the annual work plan and guided by national 4A-level criteria, the scenic area conducted a thorough inspection and rectification across eight key categories—visitor experience, transportation, facilities, safety, and more—covering a total of 214 specific items. Taking into account the unique characteristics of an eco‑tourism destination, Limi Tai constructed a landscape‑style visitor center, ticket booths, and boarding/alighting stations for sightseeing buses, carefully planning their placement to integrate management and practical use effectively. Additionally, two new flush toilets were built, five existing ones renovated, and 120 new signage items—including regional maps, directional signs, interpretive panels, and safety warnings—alongside 60 trash bins were installed throughout the area, adequately meeting visitor needs. In alignment with the county government’s 2013 “People’s Livelihood Project,” two sales markets totaling 1,300 square meters were developed at Limi Tai, operated under a contracted model with standardized business procedures. This initiative addressed the issue of unregulated street vending, providing local farmers and tourists with a well‑organized shopping environment. Furthermore, paving and beautification efforts were undertaken at the main parking lot and various leisure zones, while Wi‑Fi coverage was expanded to enhance visitor convenience and recreational opportunities. These measures collectively laid a robust infrastructural groundwork for successfully passing the National Tourism Administration’s 4A-level assessment team. II. Expanding Business Offerings to Meet Visitor Demand and Boost Overall Revenue To gradually reduce reliance on ticket revenue alone, Limi Tai has been actively diversifying its offerings this year. Responding to market demand, a distinctive restaurant named "Shanshuijian" was established near the entrance, specializing in mountain delicacies and cold-water fish dishes. A souvenir shop was also opened at the sightseeing bus station, featuring local handicrafts and Limi Tai–themed souvenirs. In collaboration with private enterprises, a series of Limi Tai–branded beverages was launched and marketed on-site. Meanwhile, the sightseeing bus fleet was expanded and brought under unified scheduling and management, encouraging repeat visits and secondary spending among tourists. Such initiatives have proven highly popular with visitors, delivering both economic and social benefits. III. Strengthening Internal Capabilities While Building a Strong External Image Internally, adopting modern corporate management practices, Limi Tai has compiled comprehensive manuals, including the "Limi Tai Tourism Company Management Handbook," the "Limi Tai Scenic Area Reception Service Manual," a "Scenic Area Guide Vocabulary Compilation," and a "Safety Production Knowledge Handbook." Regular training sessions are held for all staff, accompanied by a performance‑based pay system, ensuring efficient and orderly operations. As a result, employee expertise and motivation have significantly improved. In 2013, the company was honored with prestigious titles such as the "County‑Level Youth Civilization Unit" and the "Municipal New Long March Commando Team." Externally, professional marketing teams conducted extensive market research, crafting the slogan: "An Otherworldly Landscape Painting, the Legendary Limi Tai," along with the tagline: "A Thousand‑Year‑Old Legend Captured in Every View." Based on these themes, updated promotional materials were designed, the official website revamped, and new digital platforms like Weibo and WeChat established. Seasonal events, including the inaugural "Discover the Legend Tour—2013 Limi Tai Scenic Area Photography Contest," further boosted visitor numbers, firmly embedding the brand image of "An Otherworldly Landscape Painting, the Legendary Limi Tai" in the public consciousness. The attainment of national 4A-level status marks a significant milestone, ending six years without any 4A‑plus-rated attractions in our county. It not only summarizes previous achievements but also serves as a comprehensive test of post‑reform tourism management. By recognizing Limi Tai’s progress, this accomplishment elevates the scenic area to a new, higher stage of development, bolstering the confidence of all employees. Moving forward, Limi Tai will leverage this 4A-level designation as a catalyst, aligning with the county’s broader tourism strategy to accelerate development. The project to construct a comprehensive service zone and a scenic boulevard is set to commence promptly, aiming to enhance overall operational efficiency and market competitiveness. With the goal of achieving "4A within two years and 5A within three," Limi Tai seeks to progressively establish itself as a first‑class eco‑tourism resort, making fresh and substantial contributions toward building a medium‑sized, modern tourist city in our county.
